One of Toorak’s most expensive mansions has been listed for the first time in more than two decades, with a mammoth $30m-$33m price tag.
Comprised of six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and basement parking for nine cars, the sprawling luxury residence at 60 Hopetoun Road cuts an imposing figure in the blue-chip suburb’s streetscape.
Marshall White Stonnington director Marcus Chiminello — Melbourne’s high-flying $200m agent — has the listing, which went live on Wednesday.
If sold within its guide, the mansion would be among the area’s priciest homes.
CoreLogic records show the property last changed hands in March 1996 for $5.75m.
The title of Toorak’s biggest recorded residential sale is held by 9-13 Chastleton Ave, which sold for $38.6m in 2018.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Mr Chiminello said the Hopetoun Rd address was “one of Toorak’s, if not one of Melbourne’s, greatest homes”.
The online listing notes inspections are strictly by appointment only.
Features include soaring ceilings in the entrance foyer, a grand curving staircase with ornate metal balustrade and a massive chandelier.
A formal sitting room adjoins the home office and the kitchen is serviced by a butler’s pantry with a separate cool room.
There’s also a “glamorous” formal dining room, open fireplaces and a “palatial” main bedroom with its own dressing room.
The home has a swimming pool, pool cabana, a rooftop terrace and a tennis court, and is set on a 3066sq m block.
There’s also a gym upstairs, as well as a darkroom and cellar accessible through the nine-car basement carpark. A lift provides easy access across both levels.
Expressions of interest close June 23 at 5pm.
